‘Daddy Yo’ And ‘Mad Over You’ Are Two Of The Most Talked About Songs On Social Media
We are barely a week into 2017, and Nigerian songs already seem to be winning – according to Billboard anyway. Billboard is an American entertainment media brand most regarded for its music charts, including the Billboard Hot 100 and Billboard 200, tracking the most popular singles and albums in all the different genres.
This week on Billboard Twitter Top Tracks – a top 50 chart of the most shared and/or mentioned songs on Twitter – Wizkid’s dancehall heavy “Daddy Yo” and Runtown’s love-themed “Mad Over You” made the list, alongside songs like Adele’s “Hello” and Sia’s “Cheap Thrills”.

With “Daddy Yo” currently ranked as the 31st on the chart, the Wizkid train doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon – and with the announcement that he will be releasing four mixtapes this year, 2017 seems like a great year to be a Wizkid fan.
While “Daddy Yo” might rank a bit higher than “Mad Over You” – sitting at 38th on the chart – we can’t deny that Runtown’s “Mad Over you” is the song we will still be talking about (and jamming) deep into 2017. The song is one of the most played songs on the radio, and its stunning music video already has over 2.5 million views on YouTube.
